PREMIER
SPONSOR
With more than 700
members passionately engaged in various sectors of businesses and industries in
Singapore, JCCI aims to achieve the following objectives:-
• To promote
and expand trade and investments between Singapore and Japan
• To contribute
towards the advancement of the Singapore economy, and
• To promote and cultivate
friendship and mutual cooperation among the members of the Chamber, and at the
same time, to contribute towards the advancement of both the Japanese and Singapore
economies.
JCCI Singapore Foundation was established in May 1990. The objective
is to support the development of arts, culture, sports and education in Singapore.
The
Japan Foundation was established in 1972 as a special legal entity to undertake
international cultural exchange and was subsequently recognised as an independent
administrative institution in October 2003. The Foundation consists of a head
office in Tokyo, a branch office in Kyoto, two Japanese-language institutes (Urawa
and Kansai), and 19 Foundation offices in 18 countries. For
more than 5 decades, the Singapore Film Society has been conceptualising, sourcing,
programming, marketing and managing a year-round line-up of quality film screenings
that now averages over 200 movies every year. Since 1996, we have been based at
GV Marina. When we moved into this new permanent home, we became the first film
society in the world to be based in a state-of-the-art, city-centre multiplex.
Our team of enthusiastic and highly experienced volunteers can conceptualise,
create, and maximize the impact of any cinema-related event, big or small. We
have one of the most well established membership bases in the region. With
a rich history dating back to its inception in 1887, the National Museum of Singapore
is Singapore’s oldest museum with the youngest and most innovative soul. Designed
to be the people’s museum, the 121-year-old prides itself on introducing cutting-edge
and varied ways of presenting history to redefine conventional museum experience.
The Japanese Association, Singapore was established in 1915
and re-established in 1957, with a history of over 80 years. Pre-war Japanese
Association was a gathering place for Japanese who lived in Singapore and it took
care of its members’ welfare, their children’s education and the maintenance of
graves. Besides serving its original role, Post-war Japanese Association has been
more actively involved in promoting exchange and interaction with the Singaporean
community. The new clubhouse is also designed to be culturally oriented to suit
this purpose and serve the ultimate objective of becoming an international cultural
exchange ground for people to meet, chat and relax.
