The Japanese Association, Singapore was established in 1915 and re-established in 1957, with a history of over 80 years. Pre-war Japanese Association was a gathering place for Japanese who lived in Singapore and it took care of its members’ welfare, their children’s education and the maintenance of graves. Besides serving its original role, Post-war Japanese Association has been more actively involved in promoting exchange and interaction with the Singaporean community. The new clubhouse is also designed to be culturally oriented to suit this purpose and serve the ultimate objective of becoming an international cultural exchange ground for people to meet, chat and relax.
