Affected by her mother’s suicide attempt, Sachiko becomes alienated from her surroundings. She no longer goes to school and wanders the streets, spending her time as she pleases with a vagrant and his retarded uncle, and writing letters to her ex-teacher Ogata in another town. When she returns to school, her alienation only worsens. Then an act of violence pushes her over the edge. A raw and emotionally powerful work from director Shiota.
