A child appears before a young couple who lost their beloved son at an early age. Is he the reincarnation of their son, or a ghost? The couple grows closer to the child, but before long, he suddenly disappears... Adapted from the fantasy short stories by Murou Saisei (1889-1962), the visuals splendidly evoke the beauty of a traditional Japanese house.

KORE-EDA Hirokazu
Born 1962 in Tokyo, Kore-eda directed numerous television documentaries before making his debut film “Maborosi” (1995), which won the Venice International Film Festival's Golden Osella Award. Major works include “Wonderful Life” (1998), “Nobody Knows” (2004), “Still Walking” (2008) and “Air Doll” (2009).
