Tickets are complementary and will be given half an hour before each screening on the basis of first come, first served. 

 

 The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Singapore cordially invites everyone to the III Venezuelan Film Festival.

 

The Festival includes The House at the End of Time (La casa del Fin de Los Tiempos) directed by Alejandro Hidalgo; Venezzia by Haik Gazarian; Fresh Air (Aire Libre) by Luis Armando Roche; The Parrot’s Mess (Er Relajo der Loro) by John Petrizzelli; 1888, The Extraordinary Journey of The Santa Isabel (El Extraordinario Viaje de la Santa Isabel) by Alfredo Anzola and Brother (Hermano) by Marcel Rasquin. 

 

This event is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with one of Latin-America’s most vibrant film industry and through it to understand this region’s idiosyncrasy.

Dulce is a mother who has encounters with apparitions in her old house, where it unleashes a terrible prophecy. Thirty years later, turned into an old woman, she returns home to unravel the mystery and tragedy that has tantalized her.

A historical reconstruction of the groundbreaking journey that Alexander von Humboldt and Aimé Bonpland made to Venezuela at the beginning of a long expedition through Latin America in the early 19th Century.

 “1888: The Extraordinary Voyage of The Santa Isabel" is a whimsical adventure about a tired Jules Verne, fleeing from Paris and a boring wife, who joins Italian explorer Stradelli in an expedition on the Orinoco river. This experience lead to his famous book “The Mighty Orinoco”.
