Cinema 2 - Friends With Money - M18 (Consumer advice - Scene of intimacy)
The three friends with money, Frannie (Joan Cusack), Jane (Frances McDormand), and Christine (Catherine Keener), share a common concern for Olivia (Jennifer Aniston) who seems unable to make a living or sustain a relationship - at least by their standards. Their group examination of her lack of options magnifies each of their own doubts and concerns about the marriages and careers to which they have committed themselves. Olivia, meanwhile, drifts through each of her friends' lives, at times avoiding the issue of money altogether, and at other times accepting her friends' painful generosity. Ultimately, Olivia will find satisfaction and stability from an unexpected place, but her own somewhat happy ending is muted by the harsh reality of the suddenly disassembled lives of her best friends. Directed by Nicole Holofcener.
Cinema 4 - Heart - PG (Consumer advice - Nil)
HEART has been passed with one minor cut. The original version is rated NC16.
Tomboy Rachel (Nirina Zubir) and best friend Farel (Irwansyah) spend most of their happy childhood together. When they grow up, Farel meets and falls in love with an attractive writer, Luna (Acha Septriasa). Although jealous of Luna, there is nothing Rachel can do but help Farel win Luna's heart. As Luna and Farel enjoy the time of their lives, Rachel wallows in her loneliness, and loses her legs in an accident. At the same time, Luna falls sick. In hospital, Rachel finally sees how deeply Farel loves Luna, who desperately needs a donor heart for the cirrhosis from which she suffers. Will Rachel be able to accept the painful truth of losing Farel to Luna? Can Farel accept the reality of losing Luna forever? And what will Rachel do for her best friend's happiness, when he also happens to be her only love? Directed by Hanny R. Saputra.
