Cinema 1 - THE MISTRESS OF SPICES - PG (Consumer advice: Nil)
(96 minutes)

In the tradition of CHOCOLAT and LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE comes THE MISTRESS OF SPICES, a romantic tale of tradition and desire from the team that brought you BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM and BRIDE AND PREJUDICE.  Tilo, a beautiful young woman (Aishwarya Rai), works in a small San Francisco store called the Spice Bazaar, where, with her training in the ancient and magical art of spices, she finds the perfect remedy for each customer who walks through her door. When Doug (Dylan McDermott), a handsome, enigmatic architect, crashes his bike outside her store, she tends to his wounds and her life is set to change forever.

Cinema 2 - THE WORLD'S FASTEST INDIAN - PG (Consumer advice: Nil)
(130 minutes)

The life and triumph of Burt Munro, the elderly New Zealander who, at the typically far from sprightly age of 68, broke motorcycle racing records in Utah, has fuelled director Roger Donaldson's creative energy for years. In the early 1970s, just a few years after Munro's incredible triumph, Donaldson directed OFFERINGS TO THE GOD OF SPEED, a documentary on the sensational senior. Here, with Anthony Hopkins and Diane Ladd in the lead roles, the director brings the story to vivid, dramatic life yet again, constructing a gripping and inspirational narrative.  Besides telling a classic tale of individual triumph, THE WORLD'S FASTEST INDIAN offers interesting sociological insights into the American West of the late 1960s, an iconic landscape peppered with colourful characters including a wizened Native American and a generous drag queen, both of whom help the eccentric elder on his quixotic quest.
