Cinema 1 - X-MEN: THE LAST STAND - PG
(Consumer advice: Some action violence)
In this final chapter of the X-Men motion picture trilogy, a "cure" for mutancy threatens to alter the course of history. For the first time, mutants have a choice: retain their uniqueness, though it isolates and alienates them; or give up their powers and become human. The opposing viewpoints of mutant leaders Charles Xavier, who preaches tolerance, and Magneto, who believes in the survival of the fittest, are put to the ultimate test - triggering the war to end all wars.
Cinema 2 - THE NUN - PG
(Consumer advice: Horror)
A masterful horror offering from Spain, with widespread international success. A young girl, whose mother dies in mysterious and horrifying circumstances, returns to her mother's old boarding school in Spain and attempts to get in touch with her former classmates. Event after event unfolds, and it transpires that something really awful and very wrong once took place within the secluded walls of that revered institution. Pre-bought for Singapore two years ago even before production commenced, THE NUN is interestingly conceived, tautly written, tightly directed, and ably orchestrated by everyone from director to supporting cast. If you enjoyed the original Japanese DARK WATER, you will love THE NUN.
